Something To Sink Your Fangs Into

Sorry for the late entry, minions. It was a long, involved, exhausting day. But there’s good news afoot!

First off, Wonderland is moving along swimmingly. Dillon and I have found a kinship and I’m beginning to really enjoy his company. Plus, it was INCREDIBLE to be writing again. Breaks, though they are much-needed, are frustrating and difficult.

My fabulous agent gave me a call (he’s so amazingly good to me) and let me know that my contracts should be ready in a few days and (even better) there are like six foreign publishers interested in Eighth Grade Bites! No offers yet and no details for you minions, but life is good and Vlad is quite happy. I’m always in a great mood after I talk to my agent. He watches out for me and for my career, and in this big, bad world where so few people watch out for anybody…it’s a nice feeling.

Today’s entry is rather scatterbrained–my apologies. I need to get back to Wonderland.

Congrats on getting back to writing.

Congrats on getting along (finally) with Dillon.

Congrats on the news from your agent.

Your loyal minion is very happy for you.

WELCOME BACK, DILLON! Kish kish from Auntie Jackie.

And a huge huzzah on the upcoming foreign success, Heather! Post as soon as you have something definite, and I’ll learn how to say (or type) “huzzah” in those languages.

    :-) =

LOL! I love the smiley fangs, Jax–Vlad loves them too. Dillon is a bit confused, but I pat him on the hand and tell him it has nothing to do with what he’ll encounter in Wonderland. :)

I’ll definitely let you both (and the rest of you) know when I have some definite news on those sales! I’m really looking forward to owning books that I can’t read. :)

Wait…does “huzzah” come in other languages?? You are such a WIT, Jax. ;) (and so funny that you wrote that in your return address…it’s a term we wenches actually use!)

CONGRATS on the potential foreign sales, dearest!

Here’s a story about a writer in a foreign language:

Patricia Hampl, a Minnesota author, developed a friendship with a visiting writer from Eastern Europe. A couple years later, she received the writer’s memoir in that obscure foreign language. Patricia thumbed through the pages of unknown foreign words. Suddenly she saw “Patricia Hampl” leap off the page. On the next page:
“Patricia Hampl.” Her name appeared throughout the book.

Concerned, she took the book to a friend who knew that foreign language. The friend refused to tell her what was in the book.

Wishing you, Vlad and Dillon the best!

    Christopher

Wonderful story, Christopher! Thank you. Here’s hoping Vlad paves the way around the world for Dillon! :)
