Here’s a story about a writer in a foreign language:

Patricia Hampl, a Minnesota author, developed a friendship with a visiting writer from Eastern Europe. A couple years later, she received the writer’s memoir in that obscure foreign language. Patricia thumbed through the pages of unknown foreign words. Suddenly she saw “Patricia Hampl” leap off the page. On the next page:
“Patricia Hampl.” Her name appeared throughout the book.

Concerned, she took the book to a friend who knew that foreign language. The friend refused to tell her what was in the book.
