One Step Closer

There’s nothing like having a book published to teach you how great people can be. My husband works at this big company and is asked constantly about me and my book, how my career is going–people just care. It blows me away. The same happens at my son’s school–there’s interest there, and it touches me. My family, my friends–even strangers I bump into while at the bookstore or out getting groceries–people just seem to care about me and my silly little career. It rawks muchly. I must be cashing in on some good karma or something.

So thank you, everyone, for asking…for caring…or even for pretending to care if you really don’t. It means a lot to me. On those rough days, it keeps me going.

Today, however, is not one of those rough days, minions. Today, I’m sitting down to reread my copyedited manuscript, make any additional changes, and then…I’m shipping it out to my wonderful editor. EIGHTH GRADE BITES is one step closer to your bookshelf.

Congratulations! My greatest literary accomplishment so far is to sign with an agent, who is currently hawking my nonfiction proposal to various editors. Even so, I get asked repeatedly if I have sold my book yet, when can I read it. You’re right, people are incredibly supportive, surprisingly so.

    Congrats, Andrew!

And Heather — who WOULDN’T support you? You’re awesome, Vlad is awesome, and you’re both going to rock the literary world!

Disclaimer: anything you minions post here may be used as a blurb on future books. :)

  5. Jackie says:

Sweet. Because some of us are planning on riding on your coattails, dearest… ;-)

  6. Heather Brewer says:

Wait, I thought I was riding your coattails…

We really need to organize. ;)

  7. Ewoh Nairb says:

Can I blurb on the snippet you have posted on your website? That’s all I have read of the book, and I don’t want to blurb on something that I have not read :D

Can I hitch a ride on some coattails? Wait… that would require actually finishing my edits… which would require actually have the time to work on my edits… sheesh, give a guy a break here.

What I need is a good ratio of how much coffee I need to consume per hour of sleep lost. Then I can plan out my activities accordingly.

  8. Heather Brewer says:

Poor Ewoh! You need much sleepage, hon. Send the kids over and go nap…and maybe edit :)

  9. Thank you for that smart critique. Me & my neighbour were preparing to do some research about that. We received a great book on that matter from our local library and most books where not as influensive as your details. I am really glad to see such information which I was searching for a long time.

  10. Resources this kind of as the 1 you mentioned right here will be incredibly helpful to myself! I’ll publish a hyperlink to this web page on my personalized weblog. I’m sure my site guests will locate that fairly advantageous.
