It's (practically, almost, kinda, sorta) Summer!

School’s out (or will be soon), Minions. And you know what that means…

That’s right…summer. Sun, a Minion’s (and vampire’s) worst enemy, is about to become a daily thing. But summer is full of all sorts of stuff to celebrate: a break from school, late nights spent hanging out with other Minions, discovering fangtastic new books, growing the Minion Horde by forcibly introducing others to Vlad…it’s all good.

But Auntie Heather and Vlad feel the need to remind you all to wear sun block (minimum SPF 15, but really, what’s 15 gonna do?? Slather on SPF 50, like Auntie Heather does). Even on cloudy days. Just trust me. Also, it’s perfectly acceptable to wear black during the summer (Vlad and I both do), just aim for lighter fabrics in order to keep cool. And also also, drink lots of water. I won’t have the Horde becoming dehydrated on my watch.

And be productive! Don’t just lay around all summer. Get up, get out, and change the world. That’s an order, Minions.

Woot! Summer! Two more half-days left for me! I can’t wait to finally be able to stay up late again! I’m always so tired in the morning and awake at night all my life, Auntie. Do you think I could be nocturnal? Creature of the night?

  2. K8 says:

I get out in three weeks and this weekend is a long weekend! Now if only I can survive my classes for that long maybe I can start drawing again!

Does Heather have any plans for her summer? =D

  3. Heather Brewer says:

    Absolutely, cd!

k8, Auntie Heather is going to Disney World in July for eight days. That mouse will neveer be the same… :) =

Today is the first day os summer vacation, and it’s been raining all day!!!! Some summer.

I’m turning 16 in about a month, so that’s exciting.
I’m hoping i didn’t fail any of my classes. my parents would kill me.

i’m thinking of being noctournal this summer. my friend does it, and it sounds pretty cool.

Sweet! I’ve never been to Disney World…D: what things was I deprived of?

I am going to SoulFest, which is a huge Christian concert. They have some awesome bands that come, and it gives you a chance to get stuff signed and find new bands. It ROCKS! (but not as much as Vladimir <3)

  7. Heather Brewer says:

    Happy early birthday, Rachael!!!

Rachel, I find carrying a parasol and bathing in SPF 50 works wonders ;) Also, shade, shade, shade!

Froze: Have fun, hon! I’ve never been to Disney World either. But there’s a Haunted Mansion and a Tower of Terror…how bad could it be? Besides, the kids want to go (y’know, my son Jacob (14), my daughter Alex (7), and Vlad (eternal…unless D’Ablo gets his wish)…). :) =

  8. Froze8 says:

I will! I believe Flyleaf is going to be there so that will be just awesome. Disney World sounds fun, I mean don’t they have rides? That’s all I need! (I know Jacob, tell him I said hi! I haven’t heard very much about Alex though.) Haha Valdie wanted to go to Disney World. I should so remember that for the story I was working on. ^^

    Thanks Heather! :D

I wear SPF 70. 50 doesn’t work for me. I have really sensitive skin. I’ve been to Disney World before. The sun wasn’t out, which was awesome. The bad thing was it was raining really hard (but that’s ok, I like rain :D ). I only have one day left of school (IF I exempt all of my exams), and I will definitly be spreading the vlad love all throughout South Carolina, New York, Virginia, and North Carolina (my grandmother is a very travelly person).

    Have a Fangtastic summer!
    -Rainbow

  11. Heather Brewer says:

Froze: Disney World has Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, which is reported to be like Cedar Point’s Demon Drop to the Nth power (plus, I LURVES me some Twilight Zone).

Rainbow: I used to wear 70! But now I can’t find any bigger than 50, so there she be. I love Rain too! In fact, my daughter Alex has “Rain” as her middle name. :) =

  12. K8 says:

That sounds awesome! For me just give me any old roller coaster and I’ll just keep going on that XD. You know that’d make a good thing for a story too…

  13. darkdawnangel says:

Hey, i am going to disney world in august. i cant wait for school to end.

  14. Noel says:

I get out on Thursday. All of my senior friends graduated. It’s depressing. Haha, I’ll take that sunblock advice to heart! My boyfriend wants me to get a TAN. o_0 It’s not right. The sun and I don’t like eachother. It just burns me and laughs at my pain. >.< I'm proud of how pale I am. :D Oh, don't worry Auntie, I'll duct tape my friends to chairs and read them Vlad myself! Books to them are like the sun to me. *smirks*

May you stay pale this summer! Lots of love and huggles. Hope to see you in Fairview Heights!

  15. Demon Hunter says:

    Heather,
I hope you and Vlad have a great summer as well! :*)

Mine will be full of writing and reading. Wish me luck! ;*)

  16. A Paperback Writer says:

    Hi Heather.
Nice bloody blog, here. I like it.
Thanks for dropping by mine when I was complaining about finding your books. Sorry if I sounded negative; it was nothing against you– since I’d never heard of you or your series until 10 minutes before I wrote the post. And I obviously like the basic premise of your novels. :)
(Hey, if mine ever do get published, at least you’ll have the satisfaction of knowing I didn’t copy you!)
I’ll get copies of your book and read them this summer — promise! (Just not until next week when school’s out.)
    Good luck in Texas.
I’ll drop by your blog again when I have more time to read everything.

  17. Heather Brewer says:

Hey PW – I totally understand your vent. It happens to all of us. (You wouldn’t believe how many of my writer friends have run into the exact same problem–but it’s worked out each and every time) We’re all writers, so we’re all in this crazy rat race together.

Looking forward to seeing your stuff on the shelf some day!

  18. A Paperback Writer says:

    Wonderful. :)
We can do a vampire tour together.
Except you’ll be famous and I’ll be an unknown. Oh well, I’ll be your “Opening act” and you can be the “real concert.”

  19. jack says:
