So. News.
It is not a movie deal, so let’s just all get that out of our heads for the moment (but keep your fingers crossed!). This news is hugely huge, though, and requires a bit of backstory.
For so long, my loyal Minions, you’ve asked that fateful question, “Will there be more Vlad books?” and for so long, Auntie Heather has answered you directly and honestly. No. There will be five books about Vlad. No more. His story will end with TWELFTH GRADE KILLS.
But there is another story, about another boy, that demands to be told. And my publisher, Dutton, is making that possible.
I’m proud/ecstatic/thrilled out of my ever-lovin’ mind to announce a new series that will debut in September 2011, a five-book spin-off series inspired by one of my fave characters from The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod. Ladies and Gents, loyal Minions, fiendish fiends, I give you….The Slayer Journals, an entire series exploring the life and times of Joss McMillan!!! I’m just so, so happy that I’ll get to tell Joss’s story, Minions. And I hope that you’re happy that you’ll get to read it.
And in honor of this announcement, I’m going to give away a vampire slayer kit. All you have to do to enter is leave a comment. I’ll draw a winner Friday morning.

i cant’t wait Joss was a good charactor but i really really really want to know what happened to him after he found out about Vlad. Did he start to think about vampires as people? did he decide to focus on revenge as he did before? did any other slayers find out he did a job for a vampire and failed? Will he EVER win a video game!!!!!!!!!!!????????? Y’know, just spitting out some random thoughts here… but I would nearly die of an awesome overdose if there was a series about D’Ablo xD It’ll probably never happen, but I can dream, right?

Gotta agree with Zombie–D’Ablo series=awesomeness. The third book is awesometastic, but I’m not finished yet. It will most definitely be a cliffhanger. XD
Wow!I’m really freaking out here cause Ninth Grade Slays was my favorite Vlad book all because of Joss.He played an unexpected role in the book and he was amazing!I would also like to say that once you get through with The Vlad series,bloodhound,and the Joss series. I would like you to consider wrighting a book on Tomas or Otis and possibly Vikas.Maybe wright about the entire trio.But anyway sorry for any typo’s

Oh my gosh, this is the greatest news I’ve ever heard!!! This is gonna be a really great book series, being in Joss’s POV! I am having a horrible week this week because of 12-hours-a-day band camp, but this totally brightened my mood!!! SO AWESOME!!! And a slayer kit? Niiice!!!

I was foolishly hoping it would be a spinoff of Otis & Vlad’s Dad *le sigh* -_- …but anything that has to do with the series I will faithfully read.

That is great news! And Joss was pretty interesting, I mean really, he’s so young for a slayer and he “never misses”. So I do wanna know how he got so good, and also about his little sister. Maybe she’s not really dead, maybe she actually got turned into a vampire, too.
