Oh, Minions.
If you had any idea what your dear Auntie Heather is going through right now, you might just lose your precious little twisted minds as well.
My schedule has been ramped up, that is to say, changed so that I can meet my publisher’s quicker-version of a publishing schedule. (Does that make sense?) See, initially, ELEVENTH GRADE BURNS was going to be out in Summer 2010, which meant like August. But because I sold both the first three books of BLOODBOUND and all five books of THE SLAYER JOURNALS, my schedule had to shift in order to accomodate the new titles. So that moved ELEVENTH to February 9, 2010. As a result, my writing schedule has been intense. TWELFTH GRADE KILLS was due to my editor on March 15, 2010. It’s now due around Halloween 2009. So…argh. My days have become a routine of wake up, shower, dress, eat, write, write, write, eat again, write, write, write, sleep.
For the curious, TENTH GRADE BLEEDS will come out in paperback January 2010. ELEVENTH GRADE BURNS will debut in hardcover February 2010 (paperback won’t be until August 2010). TWELFTH GRADE KILLS (this is the one I’m writing right now) will be available in hardcover September 2010 (and in paperback April 2011).
The first book of THE SLAYER JOURNALS will debut September 2011 and the first book of BLOODBOUND will be available in October 2011. So it’s going to be a very Heather Brewer kinda year in the bookstores.
So…that’s why I’m exhausted, and hardly blogging, and absent from the forums currently.
Auntie needs a nap.

wow auntie it does seem like u have a busy busy scheduel my not very busy my scheduel is: wake up, take a shower, eat breakfast, check my email, and talk to my friends , and on weekdays go to school after i check my email

Aw, poor baby! I’m sorry to hear you haven’t been able to relax or get much free time, but look on the bright side! The sooner you get these books out, the sooner you can relax! And I definitely am excited to see the rest of the books for Vladimir Tod are coming out next year!!!!
Just try to relax as much as you can whenever you can. Have your family cook meals or watch some mind-numbing television. You’re gonna be ok.

1) Who is your favorite character in your series? And if it is Vlad, then besides Vlad.
2) Do you read The Vampire Chronicles? You know, Interview with the Vampire, The Vampire Lestat etc. and have you watched the movie? It was a great movie.

3) Would you please not kill Otis? Baha, ever since that blog post I’ve been having nightmares- well, not nightmares but thoughts. And then my thoughts had thoughts- then those thoughts had thoughts and then soon- I reread the whole series in honor of Otis just to make sure he didn’t seem like a big target. But after Tenth Grade Bleeds? I fear for him.
GAAAAAH! Why am I weird like that? I literally worship the dude. In fact he is like- number 4 on my top 10 list of vampires I like. Even weirder, he comes before Dracula. And I LOVE Dracula, literally. Like- Half my room is Harry Potter and the other half is filled to the top with Vampire and Fantasy stuff, which includes lots of Dracula. Yet now I worship Otis. XD Sometimes I even take time to go through Eight Grade Bites and read all the parts he comes in.
Ummmm, eeeeeer, okay. Now I’m just getting weird…. yeah…
Who do you think would make a great actor for him? XD (That was fail.)
